I have interned and worked in various settings and industries, including healthcare, insurance, higher education, career services, financial services, legal advocacy on behalf of disabled children and for the federal judicial system.

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

I provided general counsel to businesses across a variety of industries, primarily with respect to commercial contracts, governance, formation and organization, and transactions involving the purchase and sale of a business. I participated in more than thirty (30) transactions involving the purchase and sale of a business. I was regularly involved in negotiating and resolving disputes on behalf of homeowners associations in NC.

Law Clerk

I interned as the sole law clerk for the University of Alabama’s University Counsel during my last year of law school. I performed a large variety of tasks, including legal research and writing, for the in-house attorneys working on behalf of the largest university in the state of Alabama.

Legal Intern

In partnership with ADAP, I worked through the University of Alabama School of Law’s Children’s Rights Clinic to advocate on behalf of disabled children in Tuscaloosa city and county schools to make sure they were receiving free and appropriate educational services as required by federal legislation..

I interned for Protective Life Corporation’s legal department during the summer of 2017. I had the opportunity to do legal work for multiple departments within the company, including HR, compliance, IT, marketing, risk management, financial investments, and more.

JUDICIAL INTERN

I interned for The Honorable L. Scott Coogler, U.S. District Court for Northern District of Alabama during the second half of my 1L summer. I had the opportunity to draft opinions for the judge in regard to habeas corpus appeals.

CAREER CENTER PUBLIC RELATIONS AND MARKETING COORDINATOR

I was responsible for creating all of the student-facing marketing materials for the Career Center at Culverhouse. These resources helped students make themselves marketable to employers looking to hire business students at UA.

GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT

I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for GBA 490 - Strategic Management, which is the Capstone course for all UA business students. I assisted Professor Joyce Meyer in drafting/editing real-time corporate case studies for student use in the classroom.

I serve on an as-needed basis as a marketing consultant for The Retreat at Cary, a small family care home located in Cary, NC. I create print and digital advertising materials, consult on strategic marketing decisions, and I helped develop the business plans for start-up and expansion.

I prepared tax returns for low income citizens of Tuscaloosa County and surrounding areas using TaxSlayer software.
